I came across this blog "52 Week Money Challenge", which caught my attention and got my interest. Credit to Life As You Live It for its innovative 52 Week Money Challenge technique and to Kuripot Pinay for its version.
The challenge was, to deposit in a weekly interval an ascending amount for 52-week period (or 1-year).

Life As You Live It considered an initial deposit of $1 which made the cumulative amount after the 52nd week to $1,378.
Kuripot Pinay had its 'peso version' with an initial deposit of PhP 50 which made the cumulative amount after the 52nd week to PhP 68,900.
The bottomline of their blog is savings; the challenge to save a considerable amount for a special and discrete purpose.
I decided to try it for myself but in Saudi Riyal (SAR) currency. It's just timely that the year 2014 has just started. I am starting with an initial deposit of SAR 5, expecting to have a SAR 6,890 by the year-end. Here's the tabulation:
